| |  While you’re watching the 6th Day, while you’re watching Arnold struggle through even the most simple sentence constructions of the English Language, remember that he is the governor of California. He is in charge of the fifth biggest economy on the planet (I think I hear that somewhere, but that figure could be wrong- I’m not a God Damn almanac).
This movie is really bad. Really. Its badly written, badly acted. The effects are bad, the damn lighting, the food service on set was probably bad. Damn. It sucks. I saw this at the theater when it came out. I want my time back. What’s so bad about this movie (besides the fact that it has Michael Roker in it), is that it tries to deliver a serious message. The filmmakers pictured people watching out of the theater in deep discussion about the implications of blah blah blah. Instead, everyone was immediately heading home to drink the pain away.
Schwarzenegger plays Adam Gibson, good family man and pilot for a charter airline. The future is a crazy place where everything is cloned and anybody could be anything. One day, Gibson finds that he has been replaced in his household by a clone. This sends him on a mission to uncover a vast conspiracy of epically boring proportions. In the meantime, there is crappy chase scene after crappy chase scene. There’s also some unfunny jokes, since the movie thinks its so damn clever.
The Blu-ray is presented in 2.40:1 widescreen and encoded at 1080p. A big step up from the prior DVD transfer. The image here is cleaner, crisper, and a heck of a lot more sharp. Detail is greatly improved. Colors are great, the print is clean and the compression is pretty much issue free.
Audio is Uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround (48 KHz/ 24-bit). Dialogue is never garbled and bass is strong. Surrounds are active throughout, even though I wish they weren’t. Throw this movie in the trash can. |
