Wanted

Wanted really looked like a terrible movie when I saw the trailers for it. But every once in awhile you get a surprise. It’s a really fun and weird little action movie that I could see enjoying multiple times. Its not great or anything, but its incredibly creative.

James McAvoy is Wesley Gibson, a young man searching for himself. He discovers that his father was one of the greatest assassins of all time. Fox (Angelina Jolie) recruits him into a secret society of hitmen. . When his father is murdered, the son is recruited into his father's old organization and trained by a man named Sloan (Morgan Freeman) to follow in his dad's footsteps.

If you’re in love with Angelina, definitely check this out. Jolie doesn't have any qualms about showing off her body, nor should she, considering how well sculpted it is. James McAvoy's American accent is a little flawed, but his transformation from dweeb to assassin is believable. Morgan Freeman adds a touch of class to things (much as he does with nearly every movie he's in). Every one does quite a good job, and their given a decent story to be in.

The blu ray is presented in 2.35:1 widescreen and encoded at 1080p. Its a very good transfer, but not great. The colors are strong. There is some noise on the picture, however- a little more than I was expecting. The audio is uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround and it does sound better than I thought it would, seeing as how this was not a big budget movie. When the jousting audience is screaming and doing the wave, it travels around you on the surrounds surprisingly well.
