Wings: The Sixth Season

Wings is one of the best sitcoms of the 90's. Rarely does a sitcom continuously hold up years after its initial run. Now, I never watched this show when it was debuted in prime time. However, USA used to play 2 episodes every Saturday Morning and I never missed one. I would wake up at 8:30, so I could be sure to catch Perfect Strangers, One Day At A Time (I know, I'm sorry), and Wings. Always hilarious and well written, with excellent acting, this show was never unentertaining.

The show was set on the Massachusetts island of Nantucket. The cast of characters included Timothy Daly as Joe Hackett, the owner of the small independent airline Sandpiper. His brother Brian is played by Steven Weber. Joe is, and always was, the responsible one. Brian is a carefree ladies man who is not very helpful on the business side of the airline. Crystal Bernard plays Helen, who runs a lunch counter at the airport and is often emotionally involved with Joe. Sandpiper's biggest competitor was Aeromass, run by the crude Roy- his antics were always comic relief. The most lovable character was Lowell, played by Thomas Haden Church.
