| | Has everyone seen the new SNL digital short with Amy Adams? Definitely watch that. Of course, that was the only funny part of the episode. But that's not Amy Adams' fault. SNL sucks. But Ms. Adams is a beautiful and talented actress. And despite the fact that Enchanted is a 'family film', its actually really good.
Enchanted is the story of the Princess Giselle (Amy Adams), a beautiful and enticing young lady with a beautiful singing voice. She lives in a Disney-style kingdom where the birds and chipmunks sing and smile, and where the sun is always shining. Of course, her only want in life is for a gorgeous prince. That would be Prince Edward (James Marsden), and the two are destined to be together. But the wicked Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) stops the romance by banishing Gisele to a faraway land called Times Square.
Anyway, Prince Edward follows her to New York, along with his manservant Nathaniel (Timothy Spall) and her chipmunk. But do not rush to the conclusion that Giselle and Edward find love in Gotham, because th ere is the complication of Robert (Patrick Dempsey), a handsome single dad she meets. He's bringing up a daughter named Morgan (Rachel Covey), and Morgan of course likes her on the spot, when she ends up living with them as a homeless waif from an unimaginable place.
The film is narrated by Julie Andrews, and is bound to be greatly enjoyed by children- probably just girls, though. Like a good fantasy, its creative and fun throughout. While its not a perfect movie, it should be enjoyable enough for you to check out. |
