he Waltons were a 1930's mountain family that could get through any hardships. I remember my grandmother used to make me watch this show all the time when it was shown in reruns. I think she liked it because it she was a teenager in the mid 30's. And she was an original Southern girl. She could relate. Honestly, I hated this show when I was younger. But after this repeat viewing on DVD, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is.
It follows the lives of the 11 members of the Walton family, from Grandpa down to little Elizabeth. This is a very tight and closely knit family, and the trials and tribulations they face serve only to bring them closer together as a family. Its sappy melodrama, but there's no need to be cynical all the time. Just sit back and enjoy.
