Culver City, Calif. (March 24, 2008) – On May 20th Sony Pictures Home Entertainment unleashes the comedy Anger Management on Blu-ray Disc™ for the SRP of $28.95. Starring Academy Award® winners Jack Nicholson (Terms of Endearment, As Good As it Gets) and Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, In the Bedroom) and featuring beloved comedian and Golden Globe®-nominated actor Adam Sandler (Billy Madison, Punch-Drunk Love), this film is about aggression, angst and letting go. The protagonist, Dave (Sandler), finds himself in an unfortunate situation when he is forced to go to anger management classes led by Dr. Buddy Rydell (Nicholson). The unorthodox methods of his instructor at first unnerve passive Dave, yet it is these very methods that, in the end, prove to be the best aid for the timid young man to find his voice and take control of his life.
Synopsis Anger Management
Dave Buznik’s life is in a rut. He’s a hardworking man whose meekness allows others to walk all over him. His temper is constantly tested, from his boss who berates him and then takes credit for his work, to enduring the hostility of his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. But Dave somehow allows the torture to keep on coming and can’t gather the courage to stand up for himself. However, during a would-be normal plane flight, fate steps in and gives Dave a run for his money. An innocent misunderstanding with a stewardess escalates into an out-of-control situation and the bewildered Dave Buznik is ordered by court to attend anger management sessions run by the wacky Doctor Buddy Rydel. Dave reluctantly accepts the doctor's counseling. However after another “incident,” Buddy decides that drastic measures are needed. He employs his aggressive and unorthodox treatments on Dave and moves in to help him battle his inner demons. Dave doesn’t know what hits him – Buddy ends up taking over his life, following him around, humiliating him in public and constantly painting him in an unfavorable light to the judge overseeing his case. When Buddy finally goes too far, Dave must decide whether to crawl back into his shell or stand up for himself. However unscrupulous and counter-productive as Buddy’s methods may seem, there is a method to his madness... and when Dave finally has enough, he begins to see the value in conflict firsthand.
Originally released in 2003, Anger Management was written by David Dorfman; produced by Jack Giarraputo and Barry Bernardi; directed by Peter Segal; and stars Adam Sandler, Jack Nicholson, Marisa Tomei, Luis Guzman, Woody Harrelson and John Turturro.
