Culver City, CA (3/17/08) – Diane Lane (Jumper, Unfaithful) and Colin Hanks (King Kong, My Mom’s New Boyfriend) star in the intense new cyber thriller UNTRACEABLE, available May 13th, 2008 on Blu-ray High-DefTM, DVD and PSP from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Directed by Gregory Hoblit (Fracture, Primal Fear), UNTRACEABLE tells the story of the F.B.I.’s special cyber crimes division and the one agent determined to stop a tech-savvy serial killer before he claims his next victim. Viewers will thrill to this suspenseful game of cat and mouse in the digital era from Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment, available to own for the SRP of $38.96 (Blu-ray), $28.95 (DVD) and $24.94 (PSP).
The DVD and Blu-ray High-DefTM of UNTRACEABLE include four featurettes which trace the process of bringing this cutting-edge story to the screen and an audio commentary, in which director Gregory Hoblit, producer Hawk Koch and production designer Paul Eads download their insights into the making of this suspenseful new thriller. Also, exclusively on Blu-ray High-DefTM is Bonus View Picture-in-Picture: Beyond the Cyber Bureau – an immersive experience featuring interviews with the filmmakers and cast, storyboards, production photos and behind the scenes footage that runs concurrently with the movie.
Synopsis
Within the F.B.I., there exists a division dedicated to investigating and prosecuting criminals on the internet. Welcome to the front lines of the war on cyber crime, where Special Agent Jennifer Marsh (Lane) has seen it all – until now. A tech-savvy internet predator is displaying his graphic murders on his own website – and the fate of his tormented captives is left in the hands of the public: the more hits the site gets, the faster his victims die. When this game of cat and mouse becomes personal, Marsh and her team must race against the clock to track down a technical mastermind who is virtually untraceable.
UNTRACEABLE is directed by Gregory Hoblit (Fracture, Frequency) and also stars Joseph Cross (Running with Scissors) and Billy Burke (Fracture, Feast of Love) and was produced by Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment. With a running time of 101 minutes, the film is rated R for some prolonged sequences of strong gruesome violence, and language.
